Timothy "Tim" Dwight Wood's Obituary

Timothy Dwight "Tim" Wood, 71, husband of Patricia S. "Patsy" Wood of Waynesboro, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in Blue Ridge Christian Home in Raphine.

Mr. Wood was born on December 14, 1946 in Waynesboro, a son of the late
Albert Lewis and Hazel (Fisher) Wood.

Tim was raised in Earlysville and was a member of Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren, serving on the Church Board. He was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and was a past member of the Crimora Ruritan Club. Tim loved playing sports, especially winning and enjoyed exercising and other outdoor activities. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Charles Kelley.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are four sons, Ryan L. Wood of Waynesboro, Todd D. Wood (Joan) of Fishersville, Neil Wood (Ann) of Charleston, South Carolina, and Jason Wood (Heather) of Catlett, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Rebecca, Jonah, Kelley, Lauren, Joseph, Samuel, Stella, Olivia, Sadie, Henry, Landon, Emma, and Isaiah; three brothers, Vernon Wood, Roger Wood, and Tom Wood; two sisters, Wanda Carpenter and Joyce Lawson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his extended, loving family of Melvin Bender, along with their dedicated staff and the elderly residents of the Blue Ridge Christian Home, where Tim lived the last four and a half years.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 in Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren by Pastor David Stewart.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tim's grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Tim's memory, to Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren, 36 Crimora Mine Road, Crimora, Virginia 24431.

The family extends a special and sincere "Thank You" to Dr. Rob Marsh and the staff of the Daily Living Center in Waynesboro.
