Paul Erskine Fravel, 86, widower of Shirley C. (Sensabaugh) Fravel, of 1290 Cold Springs Road, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville, Virginia.
Mr. Fravel was born on June 4, 1932 in Staunton, a son of the late Paul L. and Hilda R. (Lotts) Fravel.
Paul was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy. He was a truck mechanic, with many years employed at Paul Freed Ford. After retirement, Paul drove a dump truck for Allen Simmons.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Fravel was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Painter.
Surviving are three sons, Dale Fravel and his wife Gail of Staunton, James Fravel and his wife Bunny of Stuarts Draft, and Douglas Fravel and his wife Karen of Middlebrook; a daughter, Amelia Gilbert and her husband Mike of Middlebrook; a sister, Bonnie Snyder and her husband Jimmy of New Hope; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Linden Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Luke B. Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service, in the church fellowship hall.
Burial will be private in the Old Providence Church Cemetery.
