Mildred (Burleson) Burris, 80, wife of Homer Melvin Burris, of 1832 West Main Street, Waynesboro, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fishersville.
Mrs. Burris was born on May 24, 1934 in Stanly County, North Carolina, a daughter of Clarence A. and Dortha (Eudy) Burleson.
Mrs. Burris was a member of Pine Grove Methodist Church in Albemarle, NC. She was self-employed in the family firm of Burleson Tax Service and enjoyed music, gardening and floral arranging. Mildred loved computers, Facebook, playing games, and embroidery as well as reading and attending the Book Fair. Spending time at the lake was one of her favorite pastimes.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Denita Culp and husband Frank of Waynesboro and Sharon Chance and husband Jon of Albemarle, NC; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
A Memorial Service will be conducted in the springtime at her home church, Pine Grove Methodist in North Carolina.
