Obituary

Lucille Frances (Shifflett) Fridley, 85, widow of Franklin B. Dick Fridley, formerly of Augusta Springs passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

Mrs. Fridley was born on August 25, 1928 in Albemarle County, a daughter of the late Robert and Jenny Shifflett.

Lucille was retired from Genesco-L- Greif Company where she was employed as a seamstress. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed life.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fridley was preceded in death by a son, John F. Fridley; five sisters, Beulah, Dorothy, Alma, Estelle, and Betty, four brothers, Linwood, Gilmer, Irvin and Sherman.

Surviving is a son, J.P. Fridley and wife Karen of Churchville; a daughter-in-law, Geneva (Wilcher) Fridley; a brother, Clyde Shifflett, a sister, Edith Carrier; four grandchildren, Jason F. Fridley, Simon P. Fridley, Kevin S. Fridley and Kurtis F. Fridley; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Chelsea, Sarah, Skylar and Tatum and Jackie Spradlin who was like a grandchild to Lucille and her husband Dick

A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor John Ward.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Foundation, 250 East Market Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Shirley Bazzrea.
