Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Hippie Earhart, 38, of 360 Mary Gray Lane, Staunton, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Waynesboro.
Mr. Earhart was born March 2, 1975 in Staunton, a son of LeRoy Bernie Jr. and Mary Ellen (Hite) Earhart.
Jeff was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was employed by F. R. Drake Company for eight years as a water jet operator; he enjoyed playing golf, going to rock concerts, and was an avid bowler. On February 15, 2014, Jeff and his brother Tim were inducted into the Shenandoah Valley Bowlers Hall of Fame where Jeff was also recently elected to serve as a Board Member. He was a member of the Verona Moose Lodge 2172, the Staunton Order of Eagles No. 680, and served on the Board of Directors for C.V.U.S.B.C.B.A.
Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Hall and Margaret (Painter) Hite; his paternal grandparents, LeRoy Burnett, Sr. and Margaret (Rosen) Earhart; and an uncle, Hunter Hite.
In addition to his parents of Staunton, survivors include a brother Tim B. Earhart of Staunton; uncles George R. Earhart and wife Patti of Mint Spring and their children Amy Piner and husband Bill and Todd Earhart and wife Trish; Homer Hite and wife Joyce of King George and their children Chris Hite and wife Barbara and Carol Wolfe and husband Mark; and Wayne Slim Hite and wife Sandy of Staunton and their children Kristy Hite and Kara Hite; aunts Peggy Paxton and husband Ron C. of Staunton; and Dottie Hite and her children Lori Gilbert and husband Grayson, and Melissa Graham; a special brother Travis Shifflett, and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Thornrose Cemetery by Chaplain Greg Czerniak.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Shifflett, T.J. Crummett, Bobby Hupman, Daniel Peters, Cord Harvey, Mike Brown, Mike Riddle, and Bill OConnell.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to the Breast Cancer Awareness, C/O Augusta Health Cancer Center, 78 Medical Center, Fishersville, VA 22939 or to a charity of ones choice.
