Gary L. Lane Sr., 73, husband of Donna (Hupman) Lane, of 208 Kerr Lane, Fort Defiance passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Lane was born September 9, 1941 in Staunton a son of the late Godfrey F. and Elsie (Rankin) Lane.

Gary retired from IBM with 35 years of service as a systems engineer, and served proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Staunton Moose Lodge.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mr. Lane is survived by a son, Buddy Lane of Verona; a daughter, Nikki Moneymaker and her husband Tracy of Churchville; two sisters, Doris Whisman of Virginia Beach, and Pastor Mary Pysell of Staunton; two grandchildren, Jesse Lane, and Brenden Lane; the adopted family of Mr. \u0026 Mrs. Paige Colvin of Verona; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Verona United Methodist Church by Pastor Bob Weeks.
