Earl H. Fitzgerald, Sr.
STAUNTON:
Earl Hunter Fitzgerald, Sr., 52, husband of Marcia Elaine (Wyatt) Fitzgerald of 112 Baylor Street passed away Thursday May 17, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born September 17, 1959 in Staunton, a son of Phyllis Temple (Newman) Fitzgerald and the late Alvin Finley Fitzgerald, Sr.
Earl was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Verona Moose Lodge and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Staunton Braves baseball fan.
In addition to his father, Earl was also preceded in death by a son, Earl Aaron Fitzgerald and a sister Cheryl V. Watson.
Surviving in addition to his wife of eight years are two sons Earl H. Bucky Fitzgerald, Jr. of Staunton; John D. Dooley of Harrisonburg; a daughter Tonya Marion of Waynesboro; a step-son Timothy Jackson of Danville; a step-daughter Angie Johnson of Staunton; two brothers Alvin F. Fitzgerald, Jr. and Glenn F. Fitzgerald, Sr. both of Staunton; four sisters Alvina T. Rote of Greenville; Valda D. Long and Paula F. Shiley both of Staunton; Janice F. Rodendo of Hopewell; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday May 21, 2012 at Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Robert Edwards.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Christ United Methodist Church or at other times the residence of his sister and brother-in-law, Valda and Dennis Long, 12 Galena Road, Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be David Hinkle, Dennis Long, Jr., Chad Wymer, Justin Asbury, Glenn F. Fitzgerald Jr., Todd Shiley, and Buck Craft.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggest those desiring make memorial contributions to Christ United Methodist Church, 1512 Churchville Ave., Staunton, Va 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
