Deanna Mae (Hite) Colvin, 71, wife of Ronald A. Colvin, of 23 Sunset Hill Lane passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her residence.
She was born December 15, 1940 in Craigsville a daughter of the late Melvin and Lucille (Hollsinger) Hite.
Mrs. Colvin was a member of Craigsville United Methodist Church. She retired in 2002 from Oak Hill Nursing Home where she was employed as a Registered Nurse and was previously employed with Kings Daughters Hospital, Western State Hospital, Augusta Correctional Center and Avante Nursing Homes. Mrs. Colvin enjoyed reading, playing the piano and time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Colvin was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Reeves and a granddaughter, Candace Colvin.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 52 years are two sons, Kent Colvin and wife Cindy of Stuarts Draft and Sean Matthew Colvin of Swoope; a daughter, Trina Roxanne Nichols and husband Brian of Craigsville; a brother, Delbert Hite and wife Sarah of Craigsville; a sister, Libby H. Burke of Goshen; eight grandchildren, Jason Jolly and wife Laura, Mandy Fox and husband Richard, Alisha Hawrylack and husband Michael, Ashley, Kristen, Anna, Jared, Michaela Colvin; and four great grandchildren, Jacob and Alaina Jolly and Anthony and Maria Hawrylack; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Little River Church of the Brethren by Pastor Scott Payne.
Burial will follow in Craigsville Community Cemetery.
At the request of Mrs. Colvin, there will be no public viewing.
Active pallbearers will be Lewis Bazzrea, Wayne Cowles, Roy McCutcheon, Bruce Humphries, Mark Humphries, Wayne Martin, Richard Fox and Donnie Blevins.
The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 215, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Hospice of the Shenandoah for the care provided to Deanna.
