David Windom Fitzgerald, 66, husband of Judy Mae (Dameron) Fitzgerald of 925 Patterson Mill Road passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born on January 29, 1950 in Charlottesville, the son of the late Windom Curtis Bill Fitzgerald and Ada (Dodd) Fitzgerald Raines.
David was in the United States Army and was retired from Wayn-Tex, Inc. where he was employed as a machine operator. He enjoyed hunting, driving his 1949 Ford and spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by a son, David Fitzgerald, a grandson, Casey Fitzgerald and a son-in-law, Dale Smith.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 49 years, are three sons, Dennis Fitzgerald, Doug Fitzgerald and Daniel Red Fitzgerald; a daughter, Susie Smith; a brother, Jeff Fitzgerald; three sisters, Linda Lipscomb, Ann Rosson, and Debbie Breen; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Samantha, Felicia, Tiffany, Derek, Tyler, Jordan, Anna, and Emma; three great-grandchildren, Cadence, Brianna, and Reagann; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Church on the Hill in Fishersville.
A Memorial service will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Church on the Hill by Pastor Shane Lilly.
