David Jeffrey Arbogast, 74, husband of Angela Tamalee "Tammy" (Simonetti) Arbogast, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.

Mr. Arbogast was born in Highland County, on May 15, 1947, a son of the late Berlin and Jackie (Hise) Arbogast.

David graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1967. He was a United States Army veteran, discharged in 1972. David retired from Windham Nursing Home in Crozet as Maintenance Director. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandson, Hunter Showalter, along with his granddaughter, Autumn, who have both been with David and Tammy for over 15 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Arbogast.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 30 years, is a daughter who he cherished, Melissa (Trent) Bower; step-sons, Kirby Arbogast, Shawn and Kevin Showalter; step- daughter, Tabetha Arbogast; brother, John (Teresa) Arbogast; sister, Betty (Larry) Puffenbarger; brothers-in-law, Rocky (Brenda) Simonetti, Tony (Tilly) Simonetti, and Ricky Simonetti; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Per David's request, he was cremated.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel, by Pastor Gwen Carr.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
