Barbara J. Gordon
STAUNTON
Barbara Joan (Goshorn) Gordon, 80, of Staunton and formerly of Annandale, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Brightview Assisted Living Community at Baldwin Park.
Mrs. Gordon was born on August 27, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of Garry Lewis Goshorn and Mabel Mildred (Roe) Goshorn.
Barbara was a warm, loving, sweet and generous person and a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was an active volunteer at the Baldwin Park Community and held leadership positions and enjoyed activities.
On August 30, 1952 she married the late John Charles Gordon, a Special Agent with the FBI, who preceded her in death on December 5, 2002; a beloved identical twin sister, Beverly Jean Wright and her brother, Norm Goshorn.
She was the beloved and loving mother of David C. Gordon and his wife Chris of Roanoke, VA, Jacqueline M. Jackie Gordon of Vienna, VA and Garry R. Gordon and his wife Anne of Mount Sidney, VA and the devoted grandmother of US Army Lt. John Eric Gordon, Kathryn Ann Gordon, Sarah Elizabeth Gordon, Beverly Lucy Gordon and John (Jack) Phillip Gordon. She is also survived by her brother Richard Goshorn of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton by Father Burt Sare. The family will receive friends following the Mass at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Anne Gordon, 383 Cline River Road, Mt. Sidney.
A Memorial Service will be held at Baldwin Park at a later date.
A Graveside service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of her arrangements.
