Albert Burnham Bob Clark, 93, widower of Shirley J. Clark formerly of Olive Street passed away, September 23, 2017 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Clark was born on September 28, 1923 in Covington, a son of the late
Charles L. and Ollie Carman (Cauley) Clark.
Bob was a member of the Grubert Ave Church of God, loved his church family and liked listening to Bluegrass Gospel music. He was a World War II veteran in the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class from 1942-1946. He retired from the state of Virginia. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, finding ginseng and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Clark was a simple man but had a huge heart, loved kids and animals.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Clark and Roy Clark.
Surviving are his loving step-daughters and caregivers, Michele Whitlock and husband Tom and Joy Bradley and fianc Bill Reynolds; five step-grandchildren; eight great step-grandchildren; a son, Dale Wayne Clark; daughter, Donna Jean Clark; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jerry Thomas.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Thomas E. Whitlock, Sr., Carl Whitlock, Steve Clark, Tom Clark, Timothy Hoover, Jr. and Seth Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Grubert Ave Church of God and Mr. Clarks great-grandchildren.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060.
The family would like to express a sincere Thank You to the staff and caregivers at Kings Daughters and Augusta Health for their continuing care of Mr. Clark.
