Willie Franklin McNeal, 88, widower of Thelma Beatrice (Boyne) McNeal of 526 Pleasant Grove Road passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. McNeal was born on July 22, 1928 in Augusta Springs, a son of the late American Levi and Hattie (Sprouse) McNeal.
Willie was a lifelong member of Barren Ridge Church
of the Brethren and he was a retired mechanic from Smiths Transfer with thirty-one years of service.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. McNeal was preceded in death by a son, Edward McNeal; a brother, Albert McNeal; and two sisters, Bessie McLain and Mary Oscar.
Surviving are two sons, Willie F. McNeal, Jr. and Dewey C. McNeal and his wife Corliss C. all of Staunton; a brother, Henry McNeal of Staunton; five grandchildren, Jeremy F. McNeal and wife Catherine, Jason F. McNeal and wife Michelle, Carrie M. Davis and husband Anthony, Jared F. McNeal and wife Jennie, Jennifer F. Noble and husband Jeff; fourteen great-grandchildren, James E., Hannah E., Taylor C., Claire M., Dylan M., Grace A., Tessa N., and Samuel F. McNeal, Lydia F., Mya A., Holden F. and Landon C. Noble, Courteney T. Morris and Michael A. Diehl; a number of nieces and nephews; and many special friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren by Pastor Galen M. Combs.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Mr. McNeals grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeremy McNeal, Jason McNeal, James McNeal, Jared McNeal, Dylan McNeal and Jeff Noble.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of his arrangements.
