WILLIAM H. WILSON
GREENVILLE:
William Henry Bill Wilson, 79 husband of Ruth Marion Wilson of Greenville, Virginia, passed away Monday, (February 23, 2009) in the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Virginia.
Mr. Wilson was born on September 10, 1929 in Hopewell, New Jersey, a son of the late Oliver Reed and Vivian (Wilson) Wilson.
Bill was retired from the Educational Testing Service in New Jersey as a Paint Forman, played Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1947-1949, was Advisor for the Richard Petty Fan Club and worked as a crewman for Richard Petty at Petty Enterprises from 1970 1980. Mr. Wilson was also a member of the Hopewell Fire Department in New Jersey and enjoyed traveling with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife to whom he married on September 6, 1952, include two sons, Kirk D. Wilson of Greenville, Virginia and Craig W. Wilson of Hopewell, New Jersey; two daughters, Gayle M. Echevarria of Greenville, Virginia and Diane L. Procaccini of West Windsor, New Jersey and six grandchildren.
In honoring his wishes, Mr. Wilsons services will be private.
