Paul was born on January 13, 1928 in Durbin, WV, a son of the late Paul Hiram and Mabel Claire (Judy) Wilmoth.
Mr. Wilmoth was a member of the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, The Woodman of the World and he was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and the United States Army. He retired in 1992 from the Department of Corrections as Superintendent of the buildings and grounds department. Prior to his employment with the Department of Corrections he was employed with Western State Hospital for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-five years, is a son, Stephen P. Wilmoth and his wife Elizabeth of Forest; two daughters, Diane S. Shifflett of Dooms and Julie W. Sheffer and her husband Keith of Mt. Solon; a brother, George K. Wilmoth of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Brian Shifflett, David Wilmoth and his wife Emily, Michael Wilmoth and his wife Taylor, Matthew Sheffer and Jonathan Sheffer; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Wilmoth and Kate Wilmoth; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren by Pastor Galen Combs.
Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
