My beloved son, William Gregory Nick Nicholson, III, 36, of Orange County, Calf. passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 in the Regional Health Center in Findaly, OH.
Mr. Nicholson was born in Staunton, VA on December 2, 1977, a son of William G. Jimmy Nicholson and Patricia A. Nicholson.
Nick was a graduate of Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan, and he spent most of his adult life in Orange County, CA. He was employed by Swift Trucking Company as a truck driver. At the age of 21, he was the assistant manager of A.A.F.E.S. and later he became the assistant manager of the Tire and Lube department with Wal-Mart in Mission Viejo, CA. Nick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his truck. He loved adventure and the excitement of boxing, monster trucks, traveling, concerts and casinos.
Mr. Nicholson was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pearl (Vaughn) Nicholson Darcus and paternal grandfather, Ward Lee Darcus.
Surviving in addition to his father of Forney, TX and his mother of Spotsylvania is a brother, Steven G. Nicholson of San Diego, CA,; a sister, LaQuinta C. Nicholson of Fredericksburg; maternal grandfather, Kenneth L. Frye of Verona; maternal grandmother, Charlotte R. Frye of Staunton; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, two of which he was very close to, Samuel and Merlin Jackson; a niece, Taliyah and nephew, Eduardo whom he loved dearly; and special friends, Bernard Steed, Douglas Robinson, Robert Sharp, Darlene Sterling and Barbara Gonzales also survive.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Michael Turner.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Nicholson, Derrick Fields, Robert Sharp, Douglas Robinson, Joseph Vaughn, Jr., Jamil Powell, Eric Fields and Bernard Steed.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
