Obituary

William Edward Hostetter, Jr., 88, husband of Mary "Fran" (Farrar) Hostetter of 2908 Parkersburg Turnpike, Swoope, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Hostetter was born in Goshen, Virginia on March 7, 1934, a son of the late William Edward Hostetter, Sr. and Lena (Martin) Hostetter.

Mr. Hostetter was a member of Parkway Wesleyan Church in Staunton, and was well known as a God fearing man.  He was self-employed at Hostetter's Service Station where he made many friends while serving his community. He loved his family, he enjoyed NASCAR, working in his yard, and driving in demolition derbies.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Scott Hostetter; a brother, Buck Hostetter; and a sister, Marie Hostetter.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are two sons, Larry W. Hostetter and Thomas E. "Eddie" Hostetter both of Swoope; a daughter, Teresa "Ann" Garber, and husband Charlie, of Verona; a brother, Andy Hostetter of Staunton; two sisters, Virginia Flint of Staunton, and Helen Burke of Goshen; nine grandchildren, Derek, Carmen and husband Eric, April, Seth, Travis, Rachel and husband Brett, Brittany and husband Daniel,  Makayla, and Walker and girlfriend Danni; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Bill Farrar; special niece and nephew, Kim Wade and Chris Farrar and numerous other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Adam Watts and Pastor Bobby Campbell.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Hostetter, Derek Horn, Walker Hostetter, Carter Rivenburg, Tanner Rivenburg, and Travis Hostetter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Garber, Eric Sheets, Daniel Pitsenbarger, Bill Farrar, A.T. Hostetter, and Danny Hostetter.

It is suggested those desiring, make memorial contributions to Parkway Wesleyan Church, 1987 Spring Hill Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to caregiver Brenda Morris; Laura and Angie with Hospice; and Doctor Heck.
