William Lee Coffman, 76, husband of Nancy (Waggy) Coffman, of Waynesboro passed away suddenly, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mr. Coffman was born September 23, 1937 in Barren Ridge, a son of the late Ray Yount and Cline (Barrow) Coffman.
Lee was a 1954 graduate of Wilson High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Military Policeman and was retired from DuPont Company with thirty-seven years as a Union Representative.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coffman was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bootsie Coffman.
Surviving in addition to his wife with whom they would have celebrated their fortieth year of marriage in August is a loving daughter, Leigh Ann (Coffman) Quesenberry and her husband Jason of Staunton; and a granddaughter, the joy of his life, Ava Leigh Quesenberry.
Lee is also survived by other family members, Sherri Smith and Cindi Gochenour and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Temple D. Myers and Rev. Bill Smith.
Burial was private.
Active pallbearers will be Sonny Sipe, John Cook, Sam Whitmore, Elwood Cash, Jimmy Lee Borden, Al Berry and Terry Kirby.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, friends from DuPont Retiree Group, the Hardeess Breakfast Club and New Hope Grocery.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Daily Living Center, 990 E Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
