William Everett Brown, 86, husband of Frances (Armstrong) Brown of 238 Wilda Road, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, February 22, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Brown was born on December 8, 1929 in Franconia, Virginia, a son
of the late Everett Conway and Lula Elvira (Davis) Brown.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and was a retired certified ASE Automotive Service Technician and Mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows and playing with his pet cat Buster.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Virginia (Deavers) Brown; four sisters, Sylvia Brown, Sue Ritchie, Iva Raines and Nancy Boyd.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 24 years, is a son, William Calvin Billy Brown and his fianc Terry Coffman of Stuarts Draft; a daughter, Glenda (Brown) Ridgely and her husband Walter of Greenwood, South Carolina; three step-daughters, Jean Stover and her husband Joe of Staunton, Jan Sprouse and her husband David of Churchville and Joy Surratt of Mount Solon; two brothers, Phillip Brown of Rice, and James Brown of Stuarts Draft; four sisters, Lucy Prikasky of East Lansing, Michigan, Clara Helding of Seymour, Tennessee, Gladys Sharkey of Greenville, and Betty Pearson of Rice; a granddaughter, Jaime (Brown) Robison; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Gary Hodges.
Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be William Billy Brown, Walter Ridgely, David Sprouse, John Buchanan, Rick Diehl, Scott Campbell and Guy Brooks.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
