William Kenton Bill Hoover, 85, husband of Betty Ann ((Roberson) Hoover, of 58 Misty Dawn Lane, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Hoover was born on November 2, 1931 in Highland County, Virginia, a son of the late Emory Houston and Virginia (Gwin) Hoover.
Bill was retired from Thornrose Cemetery as a caretaker, and He enjoyed watching softball, collecting model cars, and salt and pepper shakers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two step-sons, Larry E. Woodson and his wife Donna and Lacy E. Woodson, all of Tennessee; four step-daughters, Elizabeth Phillips and her husband Lyle of Churchville, Betty Ann Lane of Roanoke, Virginia M. Woodson of Verona, and Mary L. Phillips of Washington County, Virginia; a sister, Annie Hartman of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren also survive.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Todd Shifflett.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Bill\u0027s step-daughter, Elizabeth Phillips, 52 Crestone Lane, Churchville, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
