William Andrew Bill Reider was born December 11, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio and died June 4, 2011 at Augusta Health Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Gerner and Grace (Hall) Reider, his wife, Margaret (Voelker) Reider and companion, Joyce Staton.

Surviving is his daughter, Susan Elizabeth and husband Jay Allen Buerkel of Staunton and son, John Kenneth Reider and his wife Judith Ann of Concord, OH, six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

Bill was a veteran of World War II, serving in communications and intelligence in Greenland. He was employed by Cleveland Trust Bank and was a partner in L.J. Shultz \u0026 Company, a brokerage firm. He was an avid golfer.

Bill moved to Staunton three years ago from a retirement community in Sun City, FL., and will be remembered by many for his generous support of agencies working to help people in need.

A Memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 300 West Frederick Street at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

Burial will be in Cleveland, OH.
