Willard Raymond Poppy Bennett, 90, husband of Margaret Alice (Pase) Bennett of 606 Cherry Hill Drive passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Bennett was born October 14, 1923 in Ridgely, WVA, a son
of the late Ora and Gertrude (Heiffer) Bennett.
Willard was retired from the Baltimore County Health Department. He was a member of the Hawks Pleasure Club in Essex, MD.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Bennett; four siblings, Lowman Bennett, Edress Wright, Ann Bennett and Dorothy Bean.
Surviving in addition to his wife of seventy-two years is a daughter Sandra Meseck; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Bennett; cousin, David Skippy Smith; sister-in-law, Lynn Parsons; granddaughters, Suzette Luethke and husband Ron and Cathy Ballew and husband George; grandsons, Douglas Bennett and Brian Bennett; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Sutphin, Thomas Marks, Jr. and wife Stacy, Tiffani Sutphin, Brian Marks and Heather Hydrick, Christopher Bennett, Kyle Rudolph, Travis Lewis, Van Luethke and wife Andrea, Ryan Ballew and wife Natalie, Michael Ballew and wife Katie and Jordan Ballew; great-great grandchildren, Emma Hydrick, Gracie Sargent, David Sutphin, Summer Seitz and Mia Ballew; a special long time friend, Eugene Sewell of Cumberland, MD.
There will be a Memorial gathering from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home.
It is suggested that memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to CASA for Children, 119 West Frederick Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
