W.W. Barney King, husband of Jean (Spradlin) King of Staunton, passed away, Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. King was born on May 5, 1924 in Gapland, Maryland, son of the late Henry Howell and Clara (Smith) King.
Barney attended Fishersville United Methodist Church and was retired from Shreckhise Brothers. Mr. King enjoyed attending auctions, buying and selling antiques, meeting people and collecting antique toys. Mr. King was known as buyer number 2.
Mr. King was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry King and Fulton King and a sister Virginia Shreckhise.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife are a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Fishersville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry G. Jent.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall and those desiring may pay their respects by visiting Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at any time.
Entombment will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions in the name of Barney King, to a charity of ones choice.
