William D. Weaver
CRAIGSVILLE:
William David PawPaw Weaver, 83, husband of Ruth (Knight) Weaver of 235 Stuples Hollow Road, Craigsville passed away Wednesday morning, February 23, 2011 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Weaver was born January 17, 1928 in Augusta County, Virginia, a son of the late William Stewart and Lucy (Puckett) Weaver.
Mr. Weaver worked as a tester for McQuay International in Verona for over forty years where he served as past president of the Union. He was an United States Army veteran and attended the Little River Church of the Brethren in Goshen. He loved spending time with his family and fixing what his family tore-up. A favorite past time was playing the Dobro.
In addition to his wife of sixty-three years, Mr. Weaver is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene W. Craig of Staunton and Brenda L. Hicks and her husband, James of Craigsville; four grandchildren, Donna Cook and her husband, David of Verona, Travis Craig and his wife, Amanda and Melanie Craig all of Staunton and Lucinda Fravel and her husband, Ellis of Fishersville; five great-grandchildren, Lisa Cook, Nathan, Alicyn, Cian and Emercyn Craig; a sister, Irene Sprouse of Craigsville; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Frank Tusing.
The family will receive friends 7-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Active pallbearers are John L. Coffman, Jr., John L. Coffman, III, Jessie Andy Coffman, Benny, Charles and Jerry Cook.
It is suggested those so desiring to make memorial contributions to the Little River Church of the Brethren, 711 Little River Road, Goshen, Virginia 24439.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
