Wilda Lee (Smith) Bodkin McDorman, 77, of 515 Hull Street, widow of Franklyn D. McDorman passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mrs. McDorman was born on March 15, 1937 in Sugar Grove, WVA a daughter of the late Gordon and Lula (Puffenbarger) Smith.
Wilda was a member of Staunton Church of Christ and was retired from Western State Hospital after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
In addition to her parents and first husband, John V. Bodkin, Mrs. McDorman was preceded in death by two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Lennie Bodkin.
Surviving are two sons, John K. Bodkin of Highland County and Jack D. Bodkin of Staunton; two daughters, Kim M. Bodkin and Holly L. Karicofe and husband Stacy both of Staunton; three grandchildren, Will Bodkin, Loren Karicofe and Garret Karicofe; a brother and five sisters also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Barry Creasy and Pastor Todd Brown.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be David Fridley, Homer Moats, Larry Simmons, Barry Simmons, Delbert Rexrode, Jr., K. D. Puffenbarger, Philip Downs, Jeff Smith and Ronnie Pitsenbarger.
It is suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Richmond, VA 23060 or Kindred Spirits, 410 Commerce Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
