Wendell Allen Desper, 78, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 8, 2022.

Mr. Desper was born in Augusta County, Virginia on April 29, 1944, son of the late Howard and 'Cathryn' (Bowman) Desper.

Wendell worked many years as a home builder, took over Knopp Millworks and later, Staunton Building Supply, Cabinets and Millwork. He enjoyed baseball, fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Desper was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Desper Shipe, DeLores Desper Hale and a stillborn, Angel Norma Jean; and a brother, Thomas Desper.

Wendell is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kay Agnor Desper; two sons, Allen and his wife Gwen and David and his wife Bobbie; a brother, Raymond Desper and his wife Carrol; four loving grandchildren, Cody Desper, April Desper, Tommy Southers and Nickole Ingram; and six precious great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Ryan Oswald.
