Wayne Scott Nulty, 84, widower of Leona Rachel (Fleisher) Nulty, of 2485 Cold Springs Road, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Augusta Health, Fishersville.
Mr. Nulty was born on May 10, 1930, in Augusta County, a son of the late Lacy Shuey and Catherine (Shumate) Nulty.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nulty was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Brown.
Wayne was a member of the Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church and of the American Legion in Nevada. He was retired from Newmont Gold Company where he was an equipment operator. Wayne loved gardening, fishing, camping, and puttering in his shop.
Mr. Nulty is survived by a son, C.T. Butch Nulty and wife Patty of Churchville; a daughter, Pamela Layne and husband Danny of Natalie, VA; a step-son, J.R. Garber and wife Laurie of Clarksville, TN; a step-daughter, Sandra K. Moore and husband Steve of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; a brother, Gary D. Nulty and wife Barbara of Staunton; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; one step great-grandson; and special friends, Lucille Staton and Melvin and Faye Moran.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in the Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church by Rev. Isca Mitchell.
The family will receive friends following the service.
