Wayne Nelson Jarvis, 75, of 1500 Indian Ridge Road Stuarts Draft, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Jarvis was born on August 18, 1942 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John Jacob and Viola Freedom (Sensabaugh) Jarvis.

Wayne retired from McQuay/Daiken, enjoyed hunting, raising chickens and doves, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jarvis was preceded in death by a brother; Henry Jarvis and five sisters, Elizabeth Grimm, Geneva Mader, Jean Tunnerman, Frances Oliver and Estelle Jarvis.

Mr. Jarvis is survived by his companion of 39 years, Linda D. Fretwell; two sons, Dustin W. Jarvis and Wesley R. Jarvis all of Stuarts Draft; three daughters, Tamara D. Jarvis of Stuarts Draft, Pamela J. Cox and Stacy Lynn Young both of Staunton; six grandchildren, Zachery Sensabaugh, Brianna Sensabaugh, Autumn Cox, David Young, Jr., Whitney Young and Buck Jarvis; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Junior Jarvis and wife Helen and Raymond Jarvis and wife Alita all of Middlebrook and Jake Jarvis and wife Mildred of Staunton; a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.
