Wayne Lee Agnor, 84, husband of Shirley Mae (Clinedinst) Agnor of 605 Cherry Hill Drive, Staunton, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Brookdale of Staunton.
Mr. Agnor was born in Augusta County, Virginia on September 3, 1937, a son of the late Russell Leonard Agnor and Ida Juanita (Chandler) Agnor.
Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to his retirement from Western State Hospital, Mr. Agnor was employed with Smith's Transfer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Washington Nationals Baseball and reading western novels.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Agnor was preceded in death by two brothers, William Agnor and Robert Agnor; and a sister, Nancy Bashlor.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 66 years, is a daughter, Cheryl A. Carroll and her husband Mike, Sr. of Staunton; a son, Curtis "Scott" Agnor and his wife Carolyn of Staunton; three sisters, Kay Desper and her husband Wendell of Greenville, Patricia Desper and Sharon Duncan and her husband Bill, all of Newport News; three grandchildren, Michael Carroll, Jr. and his wife Christy, Mandy Boney and her husband Jarret, and Duane Craun and his wife Tammy; ten great- grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at their residence.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Augusta Memorial Park by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
Active pallbearers are Michael Carroll, Jr., Hunter Carroll, Jarret Boney, Duane Craun, Cameron Engleman, and Mike Carroll, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers are Duke West and John Hunter.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942 in honor of Natalie Dodge.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
