Wanda Christine Monroe, 78, of Swoope and formerly of Raphine, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Ms. Monroe was born in Augusta County, Virginia on December 15, 1946, daughter of Mabel (Hostetter) Riley and the late Jason Claytes Monroe.

Wanda worked many years at the Shell Station in Greenville and attended Lighthouse Church.

In addition to her father, Wanda was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Leigh Hodge; and two brothers, Arnold and Alton Monroe.

Surviving, in addition to her mother of Churchville, is a son, Kenneth Lee Hodge; two daughters, Christine Denise Hinkle and Melissa Lynn Curry; six grandchildren, James Hinkle, Wesley White, Jackie White, Katie Curry, Karissa Hodge, and Brittany Blackwell; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
