Walter Eugene "Walt" Morrison, 73, husband of Donna (Frye) Morrison of 9 Bradford Street, passed Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Morrison was born on June 30, 1945 in Greensburg, Indiana, a son of the late Edward Walter and Cecil (Rozell) Morrison.

Walt was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving with the Military Police, he was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a life member of the NRA. "Walt" worked from 1970 to 1975 as an Albemarle County Deputy, he was owner / operator of the Craigsville IGA for thirty-eight years, served on the Craigsville Town Council from 1996 to 1998, and was elected Mayor of the Town of Craigsville in 1998, serving a two year term until 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. "Mr. Morrison had a special loving bond and relationship with his granddaughter, Avery."

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his brother, John Morrison.

Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-eight years, is a son, Christopher Eugene "Chris" Morrison and his wife Fera of Swoope; a granddaughter whom he adored, Avery Nicole Morrison; special therapy dog, "Emily"; and a sister, Mary M. Owens of Greensburg, Indiana.

In keeping with Mr. Morrison's request all services will be private.

The family would like to extend a sincere "Thank You" to Dr. Rob Marsh and the Augusta Health staff for their excellent care given to Mr. Morrison during his illness.
