Walter Wayne Ogden, 69 of 1131 Montgomery Avenue, Staunton, passed on to his heavenly home after a very extended illness on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Ogden was born on March 10, 1941 in Augusta County a son of the late Katherine (Fauver) Ogden Vines.
Wayne attended Spottswood High School and spent his adult working life as a professional painter. Prior to his disability retirement, he was employed by Ham Design in Staunton. Wayne was very interested in cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was Tony Stewart.
Wayne is survived by his four children, Tammy Bowen, of Winchester, VA, Joey Ogden, of Gainesville, FL., La-Manda Valentine, of Palm Coast, FL and Shawn Ogden of Staunton; nine grandchildren; a very loving and caring sister, Alice Holden and her husband Edward of Spottswood; his aunt, Mrs. Evelyn Fauver of Fort Washington, Maryland; and special friends, Bob and Goldie Ham and Bob and Norma Baldwin all of Staunton.
A private graveside service for family and closest friends will be conducted at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Steeles Tavern, by the Rev. Joseph C. Brandon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Staunton-Augusta S.P.C.A. 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401
