Waldo Warren Botkin, 83, husband of Norma Jean (Burnett) Botkin of Fishersville, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mr. Botkin was born in Williamsville, Virginia on June 1, 1939, the son of the late Frazier W. "Detter" Botkin and Pauline V. (Carpenter) Botkin.

Waldo retired from McQuay and was employed with Smith's Transfer as a casual laborer, and Business Financial Inc. as Vice President. He was a member of Williamsville Presbyterian Church and attended Fishersville Baptist Church. Waldo enjoyed hunting and was an avid UVA basketball fan and Washington National baseball fan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Botkin was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen E. Armstrong and his best friend, Johnny Leach.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of sixty-two years, is a daughter, Sharon Jean Botkin and Robert Hensley of Elkton; a sister, Florence V. McCoy of Stuarts Draft and her daughters, Donna and Vickie; a sister-in-law, Gail Showalter and her husband, Jimmy and their children, Jody, Stacey and Leslie; a brother-in-law, Lynwood Burnett and his wife, Connie and their children, Michael and Jamie; and close friends, Ted Davis and Phillip Clark.

The family will receive friends anytime at their residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor David George.

There will be no public viewing.
