Viola (Knight) Byram, 86, widow of William Edward Byram Jr. passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
Mrs. Byram was born in Augusta County on August 13, 1927, a daughter of the late James Alfred and Hattie Mae (Sprouse) Knight.
Viola was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
She was employed by Stillwater Mills as a mender/weaver and retired in 1980.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Byram was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Byram; five brothers, Leonard Knight, John Knight, Herman Knight, Dailey Knight and Davis Knight; and two sisters, Katherine Colvin and Drucilla Puckett.
Survivors include four sons, Donnie E. Byram and his wife Evelyn of Craigsville, Floyd A. Byram and his wife Sharon and Clarence W. Byram and his wife Carolyn all of Goshen and Richard Larry Byram and his wife Brenda of Craigsville; a sister, Ruth Weaver of Craigsville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren; a special friend, Barbara Martin Campbell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Goshen by Pastor Linwood Wilkes.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of Clarence and Carolyn Byram, 513 Bashaw Road, Goshen.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Byram, Johnny Coffman, Danny Clifton, Brock Byram, Philip Byram and Ken Gladfelter.
It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Cemetery Fund, 29 Lebanon Circle, Goshen, VA 24439.
