Victoria Jean Lubeley, of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home on August 22, 2021.
She is survived by her brother Richard Lubeley (Christiane) of Reston, Virginia, and sisters Joan Boardman (Stephan) of Manassas, Virginia, Rosemary "Sam" Marshall (Irvin) of Fishersville, Virginia, and Elizabeth Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina. Victoria also is survived by twelve nieces and nephews.
She was born on November 14, 1961, and was a longtime resident of McLean, Virginia.
In her youth she attended St. John's Child Development Center in Washington, DC and Jefferson Academy in Falls Church, Virginia, and participated in horseback riding, gymnastics and Special Olympics bowling. After many years in Pennsylvania, she moved to Harvard Home, a DePaul Community Resources group home in Waynesboro where she enlivened the staff and residents with her personable nature, humor and entertaining qualities. There she enjoyed a life of compassionate, dedicated care, and the companionship of the other residents and staff who instantly became her best friends and extended family. Living at Harvard Home was the highlight of her life.
Victoria enjoyed movies, music, dancing, karaoke, family photos, writing in journals, adventures on her sister's farm, gourmet foods and dining out, cooking chili with her brother, and loved all holidays.
She was affectionate, outgoing, had an amazing sense of humor, created her own vocabulary adopted by all, and was the sparkle of her family's lives and memorable to anyone she encountered.
Due to the pandemic, a private Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church in McLean on September 22, followed by a private interment at Fairfax Memorial Park. A Mass dedicated to her memory will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Waynesboro on September 28.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to DePaul Community Resources, 5650 Hollins Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
