Victor Scott DePriest, 65, of 120 Locust Street, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Mr. DePriest was born June 15, 1949 in Staunton, a son of the late Robert Lewis and Helen Sybil (Wagner) DePriest.
Scott was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Wintergreen Resort where he worked in the grounds department, he loved the outdoors, enjoyed golf and fishing in his leisure time. Mr. DePriest was always willing to help others.
In addition to his parents, Mr. DePriest was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert W. DePriest, Glenn DePriest, Thomas A. DePriest and Frank DePriest; three sisters, Shirley Bell, Doris Dee Dee Forte and Robin G. Worsky.
Surviving is a son, Brad DePriest of Mobile, Al; three sisters, Janet Schwenke of Countryside, IL, Barbara Johnson of Staunton and Judie DePriest of Arlington; the mother of his son, Betty L. Joiner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
All services will be private.
