Uva G. Sprouse

STAUNTON:

Uva Mae (Gregory) Sprouse, 87, of Plaza Apartments and formerly of Augusta Springs Road, Craigsville passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Sprouse was born December 24, 1923 in Augusta Springs,
a daughter of the late Howard Adam and Laura (Sheppard) Gregory.
Over the years Uva worked at Stillwater Mills, Basic Witts and most recently retired from Fiberspun as a textile worker. She was a member of Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Augusta Springs, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting coca cola memorabilia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Wayne Gregory, a daughter, Joyce Ann Neff, three brothers, James Edward Gregory, Ernest Gregory and Cecil Henry Gregory and two sisters, Ethel Lucille Lawhorn and Helen Virginia Gregory.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Michael Gregory and his wife Kim, Michelle Bauerle and her husband Chris and David Neff; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and many close special friends also survive.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 in the Augusta Memorial Park.
At her request there will be no public viewing.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the
SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401 or to the American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
