Thomas Calvin Carpenter, 76, husband of Betty Marie (Woods) Carpenter of 207 Park Blvd. passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Carpenter was born in Staunton, Virginia on May 31, 1945, the son of the late Calvin E. and Margaret Idell (Neff) Carpenter.
Thomas was a veteran in the United States Army and retired from Martin's Grocery Store where he was employed in the Produce Department.
Mr. Carpenter was multi-talented with his hands, always making crafts such as furniture, airplanes, pens, air brushing, and engraving guns. He enjoyed shooting guns with his grandson, playing golf, bowling, he loved his family and their times together.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Bonamy.
Mr. Carpenter was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-three years is a daughter, Lisa D. Hodge and her husband Marvin of Staunton; two grandchildren, Wendy Hodge and her special friend, Jonathan Berry and Troy Hodge and his wife Ally; and two nieces, Dale Kennedy and Kim Burns.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
In keeping with Mr. Carpenter's wishes there will be no public services.
