Thomas Russell Brooks, Sr., 85, widower of Mary (Nelson) Brooks, of 8 Rainbow Lane in Waynesboro passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Brooks was born September 17, 1925 in Augusta County a son of the late Harry Strickler and Pearl (Bowman) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the United States Marines and he enjoyed traveling with his friends.
Surviving is a son, Thomas Russell Brooks, Jr. and a daughter, Cheryl Reusching both of Afton; a brother, Harry Brooks and a sister, Jane Brooks both of North Carolina.
A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010 in Rodes United Methodist Church Cemetery by Pastor Billy Coffey.
The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
