Thomas Engel Bartenstein, Jr., 88, of 8 Rainbow Lane, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, in Oak Grove Manor Assistant Living, Waynesboro.
Mr. Bartenstein was born on June 22, 1926, in Warrenton, Virginia, a son of the late Thomas Engel Sr. and Elizabeth Cole (Gray) Bartenstein.
Thomas was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy having served during World War II. He was also an avid artist.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bartenstein was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew R. Bartenstein and three sisters, Elizabeth Cole Bartenstein, Ann C. (Bartenstein) Smith, and Barbara E. Bartenstein.
Mr. Bartenstein is survived by a son, Thomas E. Bartenstein, III of Broomfield, Colorado; a daughter, Elizabeth J. Bartenstein of Miami Beach, Florida; and a sister, Laurie F. (Bartenstein) Hardwick and husband Shelby B., III of New Hope.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, in the Warrenton Cemetery.
