Thelma Mae (Brads) Carter's Obituary

Thelma Mae (Brads) Carter, 79, widow of Shirley M. Carter of 71 Crawford Drive, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Carter was born March 20, 1935, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Raymond T. and Margaret E. (Hinkle) Brads.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, Thelma was preceded in death by a grandson, William Dalton Hinkle.

Mrs. Carter is survived by a son, Ricky M. Carter and wife Jackie; three daughters, Kathy Henshaw and husband Donnie, Joy Hinkle and husband Todd all of Churchville, and Cindy Shull and husband Rick of Staunton; three brothers, Johnny Brads, James Brads, and Jessie Brads; a sister, Kathleen Clark all of Lexington; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Diane Jensen for her many years of care.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville by Pastor Griffin.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Hinkle, Donald Henshaw, David Henshaw, Matt Carter, Scott Boyd, and Shawn Stokes.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department, Post Office Box 608, Churchville, Virginia 24421.
