Thelma Beatrice (Boyne) Mcneal's Obituary

Thelma Beatrice (Boyne) McNeal, 82, wife of Willie Franklin McNeal, Sr. of 526 Pleasant Grove Road passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. McNeal was born on December 1, 1931 in Fordwick, a daughter of the late Dewey and Nora (Jackson) Boyne.
Thelma was an active member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren where she served as a Deacon and was very active in the Womens Fellowship. Mrs. McNeal retired in 1990 from ASR where she worked for thirty-four years as a line operator. She loved to bake, she enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, and visiting with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNeal was preceded in death by a son, Edward McNeal; two brothers, Cecil and Lewis Boyne; and a sister, Mildred Buchanan.
Surviving in addition to her husband of sixty-three years are two sons, Willie F. McNeal, Jr. and Dewey C. McNeal and his wife, Corliss C. all of Verona; two sisters, Helen Almarode and husband Paul of Staunton and Jean Sprouse of Craigsville; five grandchildren, Jeremy F. McNeal and wife Catherine, Jason F. McNeal and wife Michelle, Carrie M. Davis and husband Anthony, Jared F. McNeal and wife Jennifer and Jennifer F. Noble and husband Jeffrey; fourteen great-grandchildren, James E., Hannah E., Taylor C., Claire M., Dylan M., Grace A., Tessa N., and Samuel F. McNeal, Lydia F., Mya A., Holden F. and Landon C. Noble, Courteney T. Morris and Michael A. Diehl; a number of nieces, nephews and many special friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren by Pastor Galen M. Combs.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Mrs. McNeals grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeremy McNeal, Jason, McNeal, Jared McNeal, James McNeal, Dylan M. McNeal, Jeffrey Noble and Robert Rodney.
Honorary pallbearers will be current and past Deacons of the church.
It is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, 1790 Barren Ridge Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
