Terry Smith Oliver's Obituary

Terry Smith Oliver, 78, of 16 River Hill Lane, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at her residence.

Ms. Oliver was born on March 19, 1937 in Waynesboro, the daughter of the late Edward Harness and Mary Virginia (Terry) Oliver.

Following High School, Ms. Oliver attended Fairfax Hall. She retired from Western State Hospital as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, a job and career in which she truly enjoyed. She enjoyed going to the Outer Banks, playing Blue Grass music, and she was a lover of animals, gardening and crafts.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Oliver was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Bray Oliver and Samuel Alexander Oliver.

Surviving are three sons, Benjamin B. Ben Surratt and his wife Melissa Missy of Nashville, TN, Joe F. Chip Surratt of Swoope, and Thomas A. Tucker Surratt and his wife Rebecca of Staunton; three daughters, Sidenia S. Deanie Tribble, and her husband William, Jr. of West Augusta, Susan P. Holland of Swoope and Jennifer Jenny Hindgardner and her husband Chad of Staunton; five grandchildren, Alexandra Allie Surratt, Ashton Wade Surratt, Morgan Oliver Surratt, Jessie Sheaves and Kaitlin Sheaves; best friend Iney Byfield and a number of nieces also survive.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to Staunton Medical Associates and Dr. Patrick Baroco and his staff for the care that was given to Ms. Oliver during her illness.
