Teddy Gene Shell's Obituary

Ted G. Pete Shell, 69, husband of Helen Brenda (Berry) Shell passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Shell was born March 5, 1943 in Staunton, a son of the late John Shell and Eva (Garrett) Palmer.

Mr. Shell was a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy on the USS DuPont Carrier and was a retired locksmith with Western State Hospital with over forty-seven and a half years of service.

Ted was a proud member of NRA, a NASCAR fan, an avid deer hunter and fisherman and enjoyed attending all sporting events in which his grandchildren participated. He was a loving husband, father and Pa-Pa.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, survivors include two daughters, Cindy R. Armstrong and her husband Lewis and Alicia M. Harris and her finance Roger Lambert all of Staunton; three grandchildren, Cheyenne N. Armstrong, Lakota G. Armstrong and Dalton C. Harris; a sister, Sandy K. Kyle of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 with military honors at the Middle River Church of the Brethren Cemetery in New Hope by Mr. Richard Anderson. Music will be provided by Jay Gallimore and Charles McCormick.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

Active pallbearers will be Chuck Schneider, David Sharp, Jamie Shipe, Jim Groah, Earl Zanone, Jerry Alley and Jim Collier.

Honorary pallbearers will be the present and past co-workers of the Physical Plant from Western State Hospital.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Augusta Hospice of the Shenandoah, Post Office Box 2015, Fishersville VA 22939 or a charity of ones choice.
