IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tansley "Junior"
Brown, Jr.
April 22, 1938 – April 23, 2025
Tansley "Junior" Brown, Jr., 87, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Brown was born in Augusta County, Virginia on April 22, 1938, a son of the late Tansy Brown and Arlene (Monroe) Brown.
Junior was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a repairman at Southern States before starting his own plumbing business, which he successfully ran for the past thirty years. A man of deep faith, Junior was a devoted member of Greenville United Methodist Church.
Junior loved the outdoors—whether he was hunting, fishing, or just enjoying a quiet moment in nature, it's where he felt most at home. He had an unforgettable laugh, the kind that made you smile before he even finished the joke—mostly because he could never get through one without laughing himself. He had a huge heart, especially when it came to caring for others. He loved feeding his family, doting on kids and animals, and making sure even the family pets were well fed and loved. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, Maynard Brown.
Surviving, is his life-long partner, Judy Strickler; a daughter, Michele Fletcher and her husband, Kevin; three grandchildren, Brian Fletcher and his wife, Lindsey, Sarah Burkholder and her husband, Brandon, and Zack Strickler and his wife, Kylee; five great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Wesley, Lucas, Hannah, and Rachel; four sisters, Dorothy, Loretta, Linda, and Janice; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Sherlynd Baptist Church by Mr. David Kanagy and Mr. Brian Fletcher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 250, Greenville, VA 24440.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
