Tammy Marie (Piner) Vaughan, 52, wife of Chad Michael Vaughan, of 237 Moffett Branch Road, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Vaughan was born on January 10, 1964 in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of Barbara (Collins) McDorman and the late Jessee Lee Piner.
Tammy was self-employed with the Valley Community Services Board for 11 years, and a 1982 graduate of Buffalo Gap High School. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. Tammy had a passion for caring for the elderly and adults with special needs.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles Michael Vaughan.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Staunton and her husband of 13 years is a son, C.J. Vaughan at home; a daughter, Ashley Back of Staunton; two brothers, Mike W. Piner and his wife Krista of Staunton and Rodney L. Piner and his wife Julie of Waynesboro; two sisters, Kay Youngman and her husband Randy of Fishersville and Cassie Piner of Staunton; a grandson, Liam Xavier Hudson; and her mother-in-law, Maxine Vaughan of Stuarts Draft also survive.
A Celebration of life will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Michael D. Herring.
