Sylvia Wheeler Miller passed away unexpectedly in Staunton, VA on Wednesday, May 18th from complications due to diabetes.

Sylvia was raised in St. Augustine, FL and attended St. Augustine High School, University of Florida, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Daughter of the late Frank A and Ida V Wheeler, she was preceded in death by her loving and beloved husband James (Jim) Miller.

Sylvia is survived by her brother, Lee Wheeler and two children Paul Flynn and Wendi (Flynn) Medley, as well as her grandchildren Victoria Underwood, Katherine Flynn, and James Flynn; her great grandchildren Arianna, Elizabeth, and Liam and her cherished pets, her dog Tyler and her four cats, Dippy, Chewy, Sophie, and Nyla. She also leaves behind many cherished friendships with people and animals alike.

An animal advocate and master gardener, Sylvia spent her free time caring for animals in need and utilizing her green thumb to curate beautiful plants and flowers at her home, nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Sylvia was a vivacious person who left a trail of glitter wherever she went. She led with love and light and was an unwavering friend to anyone who needed her. She was an incomparable grandmother and wonderful great grandmother and is deeply missed and loved by many.

Per her request, Sylvia was cremated and released with her late husband at their special place. Her family would like to acknowledge the invaluable help and care they received from her truly dynamic and loving friends and neighbors.
