Sylvia Ann Mccauley's Obituary
Sylvia Ann (Smiley) McCauley, 67, wife of Rickey L. McCauley of 313 Hendren Avenue passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. McCauley was born on June, 3 1948 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Virginia (Benson) Smiley.
Sylvia was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church where she was an organist. She was employed at Valley Community Services as an Accountant Specialist, enjoyed yard sales, arts and crafts, playing the piano and helping the elderly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCauley was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Manley.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 26 years is a son, Arthur J. Carpenter, III of Fishersville; two daughters, Julie Jones of Charlottesville and Angela Brady and her husband Matt Birdsall of Staunton; twelve grandchildren; one great-grand child and a special friend, Wendy Williams also survive.
Mrs. McCauley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Luke B. Smith and Pastor Harold W. Pete Campbell.
The family will receive friends following to service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
