Susan Diane Carroll, 60, of Grottoes, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at her residence.

Susan was born in Deadwood, South Dakota on December 21, 1962, a daughter to Donna (Liddeke) Newlen and the late Carl Liddeke.

In addition to her father Carl, she was proceeded in death by her step father, Melvin Newlen and her brother-in-law Mike Shay.

In addition to her mother Donna, she is survived by Robert "Bobby" Vanburen, her life partner. Sisters Denise Shay, Carol Hensley and her children Kate and Wayne. Her children, Jesse Carroll, Ashley Timmons and husband, Robert "BJ" Vanburen and wife, Amanda, and Hunter Vanburen, and wife, Kelsey. Susan was a Mimi to seven grandchildren, Destiny, Heather, Autumn, Hadley, Easton, Bryson and unborn Baby Vanburen; and two great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and family that she loved.

Susan was a caring person throughout her life, often dedicating her time to taking care of others. She appreciated her time outdoors, especially when gardening. Susan was a proud mother, always ensuring her children knew how proud of them she was. She was the best Mimi and loved her grandchildren deeply. She had recently dedicated her life to working and caring for residents at Fair Haven, where she was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
