It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Stephen Hines, III. Stephen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mr. Hines was born in Herkimer, New York on September 20, 1950, the son of the late Stephen Hines, II and Virginia L. (Armstrong) Hines.

Stephen was proud to be a U.S. Navy Veteran, Mason, and Grandpa. He loved his family and took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Hines.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Hines; a daughter, Maryann (Matthew) Capoccia; a sister, Cece Hines; and two grandchildren, Grace and James Capoccia.

A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 1716 North Augusta Street, Staunton, Virginia by Pastor Chuck Cole.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, Virginia will be handling his arrangements.
